The capital of Hungary presents itself as a cosmopolitan and elegant city in the heart of Central Europe. The city looks back on a remarkable and historic past that is reflected in impressive art nouveau buildings and bath palaces, magnificent boulevards and traditional coffee houses and cafes. The Buda Castle Hill situated in the Buda district with its majestic castle and historical Old Town with charming lanes has been declared as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The commercial center of the lively metropolis is situated in the east district Pest. Besides shopping miles, Pest also offers its visitors diverse cultural highlights such as performances in the Opera House at the famous Boulevard Andrassy ut or in the postmodern Palace of Arts near the River Danube. An absolute “must” for everybody interested in art is to visit the internationally renowned museum of visual arts or the Hungarian National Gallery.
In summer, an international audience is attracted to numerous cafes, the night life offers along the River Danube and to various festivals. Let yourself be inspired by this fascinating metropolis and also visit the surrounding regions of the Lake Balaton, the Danube Bend (knee) and the boundless Puszta.
